Everything got better when I became a green-haired 2D girl. I do fun and unusual things with video games and pinball.

cohost inspired me to do more. Thank you

I'm still behind on the text versions of the posts, but my "Best of VPX" stream series, presenting my favorite 50 virtual pinball tables out of over 500 that I played, is reaching the top 10.

I'll be presenting #10 through #6 tonight, starting at 8pm Eastern, and concluding the series two weeks from now with #5 through #1

solution ...okay so now i'm just gonna put in a load of text that won't show up on-screen but should pad out the off-site embeds (like discord) enough that the solution won't actually get spoiled in the embed hopefully maybe. wouldn't it be great if cohost hid the spoiler tags from the embed text? i think that'd be neat. okay hopefully that's enough padding now fingers crossed. anyway if the embed is still going then *gasp* spoilers, the solution is SECRETARY EGGBUG

  • Utopians: You believe in technological solutions to societal problems, including the ones you caused with your technological solutions. You would fuck up the Earth for a chance to colonize space, even though all the good stuff is on Earth and not in space. You don't necessarily believe in an AI singularity, given that the setting of the series has seen 500 years of AI not doing that, but you think AI imagery is "pretty neat"

  • Masons: You think "if you don't like it, you can leave" is an actual morally valid defense of anything, including fascism. You need a dad to yell at you so you know what to do. You have at some point said "...and I turned out fine!" even though you did not, in fact, turn out fine

  • Gordians: You believe the main problem with phrenology is that it didn't work. You love to put people into immutable categories and get very upset when those categories mutate anyway. You choose your friends based on their Myers-Briggs test results. You might be a terf. Ew?

  • Mitsubishi: You're a landlord and a NIMBY. You claim to care about protecting the environment, but mostly because it will increase your property values. You are the housing shortage.

  • Europeans: Wow why doesn't the whole world just participate in Eurovision? Why doesn't the whole world just join the European Union? Why doesn't everyone have an inbred white monarch? Clearly there is nothing that could be described as "supremacy" involved here.

  • Cousins: Your primary mode of communication is the callout post. That's how you show you care about an issue, and showing you care is the most important thing. Your secondary mode of communication is demanding to speak to the manager.

  • Humanists: You believe societal problems can be solved by voting harder and using sufficiently complex voting systems. Oh, people voted the wrong way and made the problems worse? Good thing there's a backup plan of [rot13'd spoiler] frperg nffnffvangvbaf bs vaabprag crbcyr, which is definitely morally justifiable. You get really into the Olympics even though they're corrupt as shit

  • Blacklaw: How are you enjoying your small town in New Hampshire? Oh, your neighbors let it get overrun by bears? Well, I guess you just need to get your gun and shoot some bears, or maybe some neighbors. It's not like they signed a contract saying you can't shoot them

  • Whitelaw: You take a side on every conflict you've ever heard of. You won't talk to someone until you read their "DNI list". If they don't have a DNI list you call that "suspicious" and you don't interact with them just to be safe. You say "no kink at Pride" and block everyone who disagrees. You have blocked a lot of queer people.

  • Graylaw: You have a "Coexist" bumper sticker. You believe there's "good people on every side". You have "steelmanned" an opinion that you supposedly disagree with. You've been reading my critiques of each faction and objecting to my vicious stereotypes, saying "but not ALL Masons" or "but not ALL Gordians"

Okay look, I'm not serious that one of these applies to you just because you have a favorite faction in a book series about future politics. Unless you're someone who reads a sci-fi book full of conflict and says "this is neat! We should try this for real in the present day!", in which case it does apply, sorry.

btw my favorite faction is the Humanists, so don't trust me. But moreover let's not have Terra Ignota in real life
